Election 2015

Passionately Moderate MLC Candidate, Ramsay Nuthall gives a voice to people of every faith and none to stand against the forces of fear based hatred; bigotry and hysteria that threaten to tear our nation apart in this age of competing extremes...

If Religion is the problem, What is the solution?

“(Religion) has two faces: one the face of truth, the other the face deception” - Arthur Schopenhauser “There are some forms of religion that are bad, just as there’s bad cooking or bad art or bad sex, you have bad religion too!" - Karen Armstrong

“Australia is the most successful multi-cultural society on earth” - Malcolm Turnbull With both passion and moderation, this will still be true in 100 years

The Aboriginal Gift to our Nation.

Our Aboriginal people have lived in biological and spiritual unity with this great land of ours since time immemorial. Deep in the indigenous soul is a gift for us all: a gift that can help us be reconciled to each other and live in peace.

Fred, Pauline and the Greens are a trinity of

‘My way or the Highway’ policy extremes’.

With regard to climate change Fred Niles asserts that:

“The environment needs to be kept in perspective as the servant to humankind  …”.

This is the foundation stone of the Really Bad theology from our Christian Heritage that has placed us in our present climate change predicament!
It is the core of the problem, not part of the solution.

The reality is: No Earth, No us!
“You cannot have a ‘servant – master’ relationship’ with the Earth!

The earth is the clay of which we are made.

Surely, on the material /life process level, the authority of the Divine is mediated through the earth.

It we are the servants of God, then we mediate that servant hood through our positive stewardship of the earth.

We are a part of creation, not above it.
Fred Niles' extreme theological views no longer speak to the Australian soul, if indeed they ever did. They lead people to think that faith is foolish and that it has no role in the modern world!
This sort of thinking has given rise to fundamentalist evolutionary scientists such as Richard Dawkins, who along with Fred Nile seems to be stuck in the debates of the 1920's 'monkey trials' era.

Even a faint whiff of quantum physics takes us well into a new dimension of awareness and debate.

Fred Niles’ call for a ‘ten year moratorium on Islamic immigration’ seems neither Christian nor democratic and feeds into Pauline Hanson’s fear based call to limit immigration, particularly Asian immigration.
Both positions show an inability to work with the real world. Immigration is a reality the world over, and of course there are problems.

But we deal with the problems while moving forward, not by attempting to escape into an idealised past.

We deal with inter-community problems with a clear grasp of the issues and mutual respect.
